Only the photography has the ability to fix the split-second of a movement. And one of the famous motives of a movement is the jump. The jump shows the impulse of changing. A body is displacing from the ground for a moment. His movement directs to an unknown, uncertain future in the new next moment. The images, which are made in time exposure, create a new aesthetic, shows us a new emotional understanding of speed.
Walter Schmitz presents with his selected images of the equestrian sport his view of the spilt-second of the jump.
